MISSION

Mission of Jahangirnagar University Economic Alumni Association (JUEAA) is to set up a wide ranging network of former students across the globe in order to bring them together in a platform and create scope and avenues to know and help each other, exchange views, sharing knowledge and talents, developing interpersonal relationship to facilitate welfare activities for the past and current students by cultivating, mutually beneficial relationship between the Department of Economics JU and the JUEAA.

VISION

JUEAA is committed to be an independent non-political and non-profitable organization with strong foundation and sound financial footings as well as to ensure transparency and accountability to encourage massive participation of alumnus spontaneously. Designing suitable work plan and to adopt strategic policy commensurate with the growing needs of the Association, comprising, strengthening the organization, academic, recreational, welfare and attainting financial soundness. To foster higher education, financial assistance program will be launched for current poor students and extend welfare activities for the alumnus and their helpless families. Moreover it is anticipated to render humanitarian services to the community, particularly during disaster and natural calamities.

OBJECTIVES

• To shape JUEAA as an ideal permanent platform with a wide ranging network of the former students of Economics Department, JU working and living across the globe in order to promote a feeling of togetherness and identity among the past and present students of the Department of Economics, JU.
• To increase alumni membership, web-based opportunities will be provided for updating data base and develop alumni network.
• To activate the overall performances of the executive committee of JUEAA and ensure transparency and accountability in all respect.
• To organize seminar/workshop/discussion session/class lecture, addressing current socio-economic related issues and share the knowledge of talents of current and past students.
• To develop materials and publish souvenir/ magazine / directory of alumnus.
• To pay special attention to involve alumnus working abroad and create avenues to utilize their best services by establishing mutually beneficial relationship between JUEAA and the Department of Economics, JU.
• To launch welfare projects for the deserving families of the former students and also provide financial assistance in the form of stipend/scholarship and interest free loan for the current financially unsound students of the Department of Economics, JU to pursue higher education.
• To Provide fund for economic research work by the Students of Economic Department.
• To arrange programs like re-union/ family gathering/picnic/cultural events to foster more interaction among the current and past students.
• To undertake effective policy measures to attain financial solvency including raising the “Endowment Fund” to provide a stream of lifelong services without any hindrances and constraints for achieving the ultimate goals and objectives.
• In the long-term there is also a plan to purchase an office space to be based at Dhaka with full support of official staff, equipment’s and logistics.
